Important Information About Using This Site

These pages contain lists, alphabetically by author, of dS fanfics - primarily slash, some gen, but no het - that have been recommended on various websites, lists, and livejournals.

There is a separate table for each author. Links to the author's website and livejournal, if any, are provided at the top of the table.

Each author's table lists the recommended stories alphabetically. Sequences/series are grouped together. Information that applies to all stories in a sequence is listed on the same row as the sequence title.

For each story the following information is provided:
  • PAIRING: F=Benton Fraser, K=Ray Kowalski, V=Ray Vecchio, and T=Renfield Turnbull. All other characters are listed by name. "m" refers to "other male"; "f" to "other female."

  • REC SITES: I have made an attempt to list all places where the story has been recommended. These include:
    • Other people's rec sites. These are identified by my own acronyms. The acronyms link to my due South Slash Rec Sites page, which lists and provides links to the rec sites. The Rec Sites Page will appear in a javascript window when the link is clicked.
    • Livejournals. Livejournal reccing communities. The link is to the rec.
    • JustaCat's Picks. This symbol marks fics that I think are noteworthy (particularly short fics written for the ds_flashfiction livejournal community) but that are not listed on any rec sites.

  • LOCATION: I've made an effort to list all places the story can be found on the web. These include:
    • Archives. These are identified by my own acronyms. The acronyms link to my due South Links & Archives page, which lists and provides links to the archives. This Archives Page will appear in a javascript window when the link is clicked.
    • Author Websites. When the story appears on the author website, "Auth" appears in the location section. This is not a link. To find the story follow the link to the author's website at the top of the author table.

  • SIZE: Size of the html file containing the story (in k). Most, though not all, stories are primarily text; thus, the size gives a good indication of story length. For stories in pdf format, I've listed number of pages instead.

  • NOTES: These may include the following:
    • My review. I occasionally review or discuss stories in my own LJ. Links to such reviews are provided in the Notes.
    • Desert Island Fics. My favorite dS fics - the ones I'd take with me if stranded on a desert island - are designated with this symbol in the Notes column. All my DIFs are listed on the Desert Island Fics page.
    • Other. Any additional relevant information is listed in the Notes.
I appreciate being notified of omissions or inaccuracies.
